Grand Theft Auto VI (often abbreviated to GTA VI or GTA6) is the next instalment in the Grand Theft Auto series. On February the 4th, 2022 Rockstar Games confirmed in a community update that they where working on the game.
In September 2022, there were videos leaked of the game spread by a British hacker. This hacker was apprehended, and the leaked videos gradually disappeared from the internet. The leaks did indicate that the game was already well in development. The actual announcement of a trailer was delayed until November 8, 2023. On this day, it was announced that the first trailer would be released in early December. On Friday the first of December news came that the trailer would be released on the 5th of December, and we would finally see the first official footage of Grand Theft Auto VI. Eventually, the trailer was leaked early, and Rockstar Games released the video themselves around midnight on December 4-5 on their YouTube channel.
In the trailer, we are introduced to Lucia and get a brief overview of the state of Leonidas, where Vice City is located. The area looks vast and expansive, with many opportunities and numerous vehicles.
On May 16, 2024, during the quarterly earnings presentation of parent company Take Two Interactive, it was confirmed that GTA VI will be released in the fall of 2025.
