Sony's PlayStation 3 is the successor to the PlayStation 2. The release of this new console was in November 2006 for Japan and the US. Europe had to wait due to a problem with the production, but the console was released only 4 months later, in March 2007. Originally there were two versions of the console on the market, a 20 GB version for €499,- and a 60 GB for €599,-. In Europe only the latter version can be bought, and Sony has said they stopped the production of the 20 GB as the results on sale are not very good.
GTA Series
GTA IV and it's companion DLC's, The Lost And Damned and The Ballad Of Gay Tony were released on the PS3 on April 28th, 2008. The DLC's were released on April 18th, 2010 (The Lost And Damned) and The Ballad Of Gay Tony on April 16th, 2010. For the first time since the release of GTA III Sony does not have the exclusive rights for a GTA game to be released 6 months earlier than the competition. The game was also released on the Xbox 360, with the DLC's releasing a few months earlier, a result of a timed exclusive contract with Microsoft.
GTA V was released for the PS3 and Xbox 360 on September 17th, 2013.
